We offer a number of customization on BlueTrace shellfish tags, read on to learn more.
Shellfish Tags Options
Standard things we do:
- Add new data not shown below to the tag, like a PO#, a note, or something special you need for a customer
- Print "frozen" instead of "refrigerated"
- Remove data points that aren't required or important to you
- Add a UPC barcode for your retail customer
- Modify the legal text in different conditions: bulk harvests, wet storage, harvester vs. dealer tag, different state requirements
Limitations:
- Within the options shown below, we do not offer different typeface or font options.
- There are no other layout or design options besides what's shown below (at least that's true today, maybe in the future that will change)
Layout options:
- We can present the data in 1 column or 2 on our 3 x 7" tags
- On the two column tag we can make 1-3 printed data points stand out in something we call a "highlight".
Smaller tag option:
- Paper stock is same as industrial paper, tag size is 5.5" x 2.625”
- Can have a custom designed back (must include legal text)
- Can also add a highlight (some bigger text) to help the customer info or your brand stand out - only if you have room.
- Reverse side is pre-printed with "legal" text
- Can have a UPC barcode
Shipping & Inventory Label Options:
Generally, we can put whichever data points you prefer into this standard layout, the only limitation on the labsl is we can't "fit" any more than what's shown:
Shipping label example is below:
Inventory label example is below:
Some limitations:
We have a few printers in the field that do not support the tags and labels shown above exactly. The reason is that the software loaded onto the printer is older and newer software has the capability to do the more advanced printing displayed above.
If your printer has this limitation, you are welcome to try to plug them into a PC and update the "firmware" on them to update it. We'd recommend just getting a new printer - it's easier.
Here's what we can change on printers with older firmware:
- Add new data not shown below to the tag, like a PO#, a note, or something special you need for a customer
- Print "frozen" instead of "refrigerated"
- Remove data points that aren't required or important to you
- Add a UPC barcode for your retail customer
- Modify the legal text in different conditions: bulk harvests, wet storage, harvester vs. dealer tag, different state requirements
Here's what we can't change on tags printed using this printer:
- The typeface or font used
- The layout or the presentation of the tag or label
